The Second Latin American Congress on Environmental Conflicts surpassed its first goal. The nomination period call for papers and / or posters extended from February to May and managed to summon more than 150 people interested in sharing their experiences on situations of environmental injustice that live in our region.
Participants of Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Guatemala, Venezuela, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, among others, will be in the City of Research at the University of Costa Rica, from 12 to 16 September 2016,
Representatives from universities, government agencies, organizations of civil society and other groups, will be the protagonists voices of analysis on topics such as urban and peri-urban conflicts; environmental justice, legality and environmental conflicts; Conflicts over mining and non-urban mining activities; Rural conflicts linked to agricultural and marine activities; Models of community involvement and environmental conflicts; Tools and methodologies for the analysis of conflicts, environmental and socio Reality and mechanisms for conflict resolution.
From this moment, the International Scientific Committee will review the applications and select the most outstanding.
