Monday February 2nd: World Wetlands Day.

“Wetlands for our future”, is the motto of this year’s campaign that aims to emphasize the value that this ecosystems represent, considering the menaces that affect them in the whole world. Wetlands are homeland for more than 100.000 known species of freshwater fauna and the number increases every year. However, recent investigation indicates that, since 1900, over 64% of the wetlands in the planet have been destroyed.
